I stood firmly with everything Charlie Kirk believed in. The evil that took his life never understood that his mission was never about himself—it was about serving God and serving others. That’s why his legacy cannot be silenced. He built something far greater than himself, awakening countless people to the truth and inspiring them to share it boldly. Charlie’s work lit a fire in so many hearts—and that fire will not go out.
What’s heartbreaking is not only the loss itself, but also the way some people have chosen to respond. To sneer at a man’s assassination says far more about their hearts than it ever will about Charlie’s. Some have gone so far as to suggest he “got what he deserved” because of his advocacy for the Second Amendment. Not only is this cruel, it is profoundly ignorant. Charlie never condoned the illegal use of firearms, just as he always made it clear he supported legal, orderly immigration. His positions were rooted in principle, logic, and morality—not hatred or extremism.
Those who opposed Charlie often hated him for one simple reason: they could not beat him in a rational debate. Despite his constant invitations to engage respectfully, many resorted to ridicule rather than reason. Today, some dismiss our grief with the notion of “selective sympathy,” as though honoring this incredible loss somehow diminishes compassion for other tragedies. But that is nonsense. There is a time and place for everything—and today is about Charlie Kirk.
As Charlie himself once said: “If you can’t win the argument, you attack the person. But truth always wins if you’re willing to stand for it.”
It has been both humbling and inspiring to witness how many voices have risen in tribute to him. Even people I never realized followed Charlie have shared how deeply he impacted their lives. That in itself is a testament to the seeds he planted. He was a servant-hearted, first-class debater—always eloquent, always composed, always treating his opponents with dignity, even while dismantling their arguments with clarity and conviction.
Charlie showed us all what tolerance truly looked like. Far beyond most of us, he carried himself in a way that was Christlike. If he had survived that shooting, I wholeheartedly believe he would have extended forgiveness to his attacker, perhaps even sitting down face-to-face in pursuit of understanding. That was the kind of man he was: uncompromising in truth, yet unshaken in grace.
As Scripture reminds us: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21).
Even in the midst of this tragedy, I trust that God will use it for good. Already, it has sparked fires of conviction across the nation (and I’m not talking about arson)—fires of passion in people’s hearts I pray will continue to burn brightly. My hope is that we do more than mourn. My hope is that we live with less abrasiveness, with greater patience and grace, and with a true willingness to listen, engage, and build peace through honest dialogue.
For me personally, in honor of Charlie, this means making a greater commitment not only to my civic duty but also to my faith. I will dedicate myself to studying the United States Constitution until I know it as thoroughly as Charlie did, and teaching it to my children so that they too understand the blessings and responsibilities of freedom. I also vow to study Scripture every day, committing its truth to my heart and sharing it more boldly—not only with fellow believers, but also with those who have yet to know Christ.
Charlie Kirk’s voice may have been silenced on this earth, but his mission lives on. He lit the path of truth for countless people, including me, and his example stands as a challenge to each of us: to speak with conviction, debate with dignity, and serve with humility.
His death strengthens, rather than diminishes, our resolve to carry his mission forward—and in doing so, to glorify the God he served so faithfully.
