Managing Subjects

Subjects help you organize activities and track time spent on different learning areas.

Creating a Subject

1. Go to Subjects in the sidebar
2. Click Add Subject
3. Enter the subject name
4. Choose a color
5. Mark as Core if it counts toward core hour requirements
6. Click Save

Core vs Non-Core Subjects

Core Subjects

Core subjects typically include:
- Mathematics
- Language Arts / English
- Science
- Social Studies / History

Mark subjects as "Core" if they count toward your state's core hour requirements.

Non-Core Subjects

Non-core subjects (electives) include:
- Art
- Music
- Physical Education
- Foreign Languages
- Life Skills

Editing Subjects

1. Go to Subjects
2. Click on the subject you want to edit
3. Update the name, color, or core status
4. Save changes

Subject Colors

Each subject has a color that appears:
- In the activity list
- On the calendar
- In reports and charts

Choose colors that help you quickly identify subjects at a glance.

Deleting Subjects

To delete a subject:
1. Go to Subjects
2. Click on the subject
3. Click Delete

Note: Deleting a subject does not delete activities. Activities will show as "No Subject" until reassigned.
