Most states do not count your hours. The ones below do, and the number is the easy part: some also split it by grade, cap it per day, or require a share of it in core subjects at home.

These states set no annual instruction minimum for homeschools. Several still name required subjects or ask for records, so an hours log is worth keeping even where the state does not count it.
