Christian homeschool science is a crowded category with a real range of styles, from college-prep lab courses to gentle Charlotte Mason nature study. What the programs below share is science taught within a biblical worldview, with creation presented as the work of a designer.
Apologia is the college-prep standard, with lab-based high school courses that admissions offices know well. Master Books takes a gentler, conversational approach built on Charlotte Mason methods. Common questions
Frequently asked
How do Christian science programs handle origins?
Positions differ substantially. Some teach young-earth creation as the framework, others take an old-earth or intelligent design position, and a few teach mainstream consensus alongside theological reflection. This is not a detail. Find the publisher's stated position and read the actual biology and geology chapters before buying.
Will a faith-based science program prepare my student for the SAT or AP exams?
Check the coverage directly. Standardized science testing, including the ACT science section and AP exams, assumes mainstream scientific consensus on evolution and geologic time. A student sitting those exams needs to know that material substantively, regardless of what your family believes about it.
Does the worldview matter as much in chemistry and physics?
Much less. Chemistry and physics content is essentially identical across worldviews, with faith content usually limited to framing or occasional commentary. The divide is concentrated in biology, earth science, and astronomy, where origins and deep time are directly in scope.
Can we use a Christian science program for high school credit?
Yes. Colleges do not screen transcripts by publisher worldview. What they check is that the course covered the expected content and, for lab sciences, that lab work happened. Keep lab reports and a course description so the credit is documented.
