Notice of Intent

Many states require homeschool families to file a Notice of Intent to homeschool. Homeschool Fox helps you generate this document.

Requirements

• State configured - Set your state in Settings
• Students added - Include all students being homeschooled
• School year set - Configure your school year dates

Generating a Notice of Intent

1. Go to Reports
2. Click Notice of Intent
3. Review the pre-filled information:
   • Parent/guardian name
   • Address
   • Student names and ages
   • School year dates
4. Make any needed adjustments
5. Click Download PDF

What's Included

The Notice of Intent includes:

• Parent/guardian information
• Student names, birthdates, and grade levels
• School year dates
• Your signature line
• Date of submission

State Requirements

Requirements vary by state. Common requirements include:

• Annual filing before school year starts
• Filing within days of starting homeschool

Submitting Your Notice

After generating the PDF:

1. Print the document
2. Sign where indicated
3. Make copies for your records
4. Submit according to your state's requirements:
   • Mail to school district
   • Submit online through state portal
   • Deliver in person

Keeping Records

Save a copy of your submitted Notice of Intent with your homeschool records. You may need to reference it if questions arise about your homeschool status.
