Activity Templates

Save an activity you repeat often as a template, then start new logs from it in one tap.

If you log the same kind of activity over and over — Tuesday piano practice, weekly math drills, your co-op science block — save it once as a template. Then every future log starts pre-filled with the title, subject, duration, students, and notes, so you only adjust what changed.

Templates are a shortcut for logging. They don't create or schedule anything on their own, and they never touch activities you've already logged.

Saving a template

  1. Open any activity's page (tap it from the list, calendar, or plan board).
  2. Scroll to the bottom and choose Save as template.
  3. That's it — the activity's title, subject, duration, students, and description become a reusable template.

Saving again from an activity with the same title updates the existing template rather than creating a duplicate.

Using a template

Anywhere you start a new activity, look for the Use a template link near the title:

  1. Select Use a template to expand the picker.
  2. Search by title or subject if you have several, then choose one.
  3. The form fills in from the template — change the date, students, or anything else, then save.

You'll find this in the quick-add form (the Add buttons on the calendar and plan board, and Kit's Add to plan) and on the full Log activity page.

Managing templates

Open Templates from the toolbar on the Activities list, calendar, or plan view. From there you can:

  • Use — start a new activity from the template.
  • Favorite — pin the ones you reach for most; favorites sort to the top and show a star.
  • Remove — delete a template. Any activities you already logged from it stay exactly as they are.

Templates are ordered by favorites first, then by how recently and often you've used them, so your go-to logs stay within reach.

Tips

  • Templates carry over the students and duration from the original activity, so a recurring co-op session logs in seconds.
  • A template is per-account — everyone on a shared account sees the same templates.
  • Need it to repeat on a schedule automatically instead? Use recurring activities rather than a template.
